The Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, as part of the delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, left for Vietnam. Cooperation with this Asian country should reach a new level. This was reported in the press service of the head of the region.
So, Golubev met with the leadership of the province of Baria-Vung Tau, with which the Rostov region has signed a cooperation agreement since 2000. Now it’s time to update it.
- Back in 2000, an agreement was signed on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Rostov region and the province of Baria-Vung Tau. Within its framework, successful interaction developed, but over two decades, the legislation of both countries has seriously changed. Meanwhile, we are interested in intensifying contacts and expanding interaction,” the governor said.
It is noted that last year the foreign trade turnover of the Rostov region and Vietnam increased by a quarter, and exports by 10 times. The latter happened due to the supply of grain. Imports from Vietnam to the Don increased by 5%.
The governor proposed to establish sea transportation between the ports of Azov and Haiphong. Moreover, the Vietnamese-Russian industrial park (DEEP C) is already operating in the latter.
As a result of the meeting, a protocol of intent to conclude a new agreement between the Rostov region and the province of Baria-Vung Tau was signed.
In addition, Vasily Golubev also took part in a meeting with Vietnamese business circles in Ho Chi Minh City.
